Catalogue updates and news around the choirs

25.9.12

We now have six beautiful Christmas songs and carols available for Term 4. Four of these are arranged for Choir with Band. These are; "The 12 days of Christmas", "Winter Wonderland", "Away in a Manger" and "Oh Christmas Tree". The other two for Choir only are "Silent Night" and an advanced 4 part a cappella arrangement of "We wish you a Merry Christmas".

These are available as PDF/MP3 downloads or printed A4 booklets.

16.9.12

Due to high demand, School Choir Music is delighted to announce that we will soon be releasing exciting Band arrangements of our most popular scores.

Some of these will be as additional accompaniment to choir pieces, while others will be stand-alone.

The standard will range from beginner Beginner Training Band to Concert Band.

The first to be released in time for Term 4 will be Christmas tunes and carols.

10.9.12 "Some Nights" by Fun is the latest addition to the Advanced Choir page. This is a fabulous contemporary choir piece, released earlier this year. It opens with a strong acapella chorus, and features an infectious vocal chant backing to the main melody line. This arrangement has already proved a hit in the few days since it was added to our catalogue.

1.9.12 "Twelve Days of Christmas" is up on the Primary Schools page, ready for Christmas concerts. This arrangement features original lyrics by Bernadette and Justin McCoy.

31.8.12 St Scholastica's College Choir presented a successful Fathers' Day concert, under the baton of Choir Director Clare McFadden, ably accompanied on guitar by Joey McCoy. "Africa" was the hit of the day, and featured driving conga rhythm provided by a Yr 11 student.

17.8.12 The Eurythmics "Here comes the Rain Again" has just been added to our catalogue. This is a great song which originally used members of the LSO to play the string parts. This arrangement features some optional semiquaver runs for the more advanced string players.

.

9.8.12 Galston High School Edfest audience was wowed by the performance of the combined choir and guitar group's performance of "Elenore." The guitar group of 6 varied in standard from beginner to experienced, and came together in the remarkably short time of about 2 weeks! Congratulations to choir director Janet Fuller for inspired leadership.

30.7.12 The Intermediate/Junior choir page is up and running!

These songs for young children were composed by Justin and Bernadette McCoy, and first appeared in Justin's 90s children's album All in a Day's Work, as well 20 editions of the ACP magazine Little Friends.

Although the magazine was aimed at pre-schoolers, selected songs have proved to be extremely popular with K-6 primary choirs. All of these songs are available as PDF/MP3 downloads, as well as in printed A4 booklets.

Watch this space for more from this series.

23.7.12 The Doobie Brothers' "Listen to the Music" has just been added to the catalogue. This is an arrangement with string ensemble, but works just as well without.

21.7.12 It is now possible to order scores with or without String Ensemble, and to purchase seperately components of an arrangement such as Vocal Score, accompaniment CD etc. This represents a significant saving if you don't need the full package.

22.6.12 The North Sydney Girls' High School intermediate choir and string ensemble blitzed the audience at the school's Music Showcase evening with our arrangement of The Letter, under the spirited direction of Bridie O'Mahony.
